Details of the date (by request) and my big news

So, blueviolet (by the way, you should go check her out) from A Nut in a Nutshell left me a comment, talking all about how her feelings were hurt that I didn't share more details of my date yesterday. I'm sorry, Blogland. It won't happen again. Below you will find the details.

And, since I left you dangling with my "big news" I figured I might as well tell you what that is, too. Otherwise I'll just keep trying to write the perfect post about it and it will take me days and you'll all leave me comments that you are just dying to know what it is and why won't I just come out and tell you, yadda, yadda, yadda. So. I'll just come right out and tell you.

My 6 months of ABPs is up, so I've been without them for about two or three weeks now. If you're a brand new reader, you're probably like, "Oooh. Woopty doo. Big deal. I don't even know what the heck you're talking about." But, if you've been reading my blog for a while, you know that my ABPs (anti bitchy pills, my fun name for anti-depressants) have been a part of my life since I was diagnosed with postpartum depression. So, with my doctor's okay, I am no longer on them, and so far, so good. Dennis is even giving me the thumbs up. Click here if you want to read more. So, it might not seem like a big deal, but to me, it's a really big deal.

I'm working on a short series of posts that chronicle my struggle with postpartum depression, so that will be posted sometime this month.

And now, for the details of the date...Brace yourselves!

Here goes...

1. Drop off baby at Grandma and Grandpa's.

2. Drive to theater.

3. Smuggle in 2 sodas by using my movie theater purse.

4. Buy 2 tickets and 2 personal pizzas at movie theater using gift card.

5. $1 left on movie gift card. Damn. This place is expensive.

6. Eat pizza.

7. While watching movie.

8. Get heartburn from pizza.

9. I have to pee, but I'm waiting until we get to my mom and dad's because the bathrooms are disgusting, and it's the one and only place I ever barfed when I was pregnant with Kaylee - in the movie theater bathroom. Bad memories, so I'm just going to hold it.

10. Arrive to pick up baby.

11. Pee.

12. Play with baby and talk with Grandma.

13. Drive home.

Thank you! I'm so touched that you actually listened and paid heed to my request. I'm a little misty actually.

As for the ABP change, trust me, I know what a big step that is and I applaud you for even being willing to try. I'm so glad it's going well thus far for you! That post partum depression can be so incredibly intense. Wow.

First of all, congrats on getting off the ABPs. I know this is big deal for you, and I am happy for you. And just keep in mind that you need them in the future again, it is OK!!!! Yay for you!!! And I think it is great that you are working on PPD posts...I think it will be helpful to new moms and your relationship with that pregnancy web site you mentioned earlier.

And the date ... I can't believe you ate dinner at the theater!!! I've never had pizza at a theater before. And I love that you have a movie theater purse -- probably saved you about $10.00 not to have to buy soda!

I'm so happy and proud of you! You go girl!

Wow, big news!! I'm so happy that you've come off the ABPs so well and are feeling good about it all. That's awesome!

We totally smuggle stuff into theaters, too. And did you seriously only puke once while you were pregnant? I knew there was something I didn't like about you. ;)

Yay for dates!! Does it feel different now?

~ Ruth

p.s. I keep meaning to thank you for the comments you leave on my blog. If not for your comments, most of my posts wouldn't have any! Not that I'm looking for a fan club or anything even close to that, but I think we all want a sense of community (or at least a two-sided conversation). Anyway, thanks (and no pressure to keep commenting - I know how busy you are).

That is so exciting about you getting off the ABP's. I remember when I finally got off of them and it really is awesome. I always asked Hubby "So, how has it been so far?" just to make sure.

HeHe, we smuggle drinks and candy in to the movies too.

CONGRATS on successfully (so far) getting off the ABP'S!! I am still on my "crazy" pills!! I have stepped down the dosage, but man, my withdrawls suck! Cannot wait to hear all about your PPD! I can SO relate!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who owns a 'movie theater purse' LOL :) Sounds fun though...I wish I could eat pizza in the theater!
