Oh, dear God - she's gone and done it again...

I'm at a little bit of a loss for words today.

It has just come to my attention that Michelle Duggar is pregnant with her 19th child.

Now, a few months ago I had quite the fascination with this family, which led me to write several posts about the Duggars. I'll be honest - when I look back at them now, I realize I was a bit harsh from time to time, and I'm really not a mean-spirited person at heart, so forgive me if some of the stuff I said was a little much.

I even started a weekly feature on the blog called Freaky Fridays where I posted something Duggar related. It only took a couple weeks for my guilty conscience to kick in, and I halted the Freaky Friday posts.

Since I wrote the original posts, I'll admit the show is on my DVR, and from time to time, I watch it. I've grown to tolerate the family a little more, but I still think something is definitely wrong with Michelle's head.

I mean, hello! Her first child and his wife are expecting their first child in a month, and here she is, going on The Today Show announcing it's time for their 19th. I'd be just a bit freaked out if my mom kept having babies on purpose, even though she's a grandma.

Thoughts? I'd love to hear them.

And, if you're interested in reading my past posts about the Duggars, check them out below. I'm prepared for my follower count to drop...

OMG no way. I understand that they are all about natural and everything. But too much is just too much. There are so many people in this world, that this is crazy. They may not believe in birth control or things like that, but WHAT's wrong with a condom? Or pulling out. or not having sex. To each his own,but 19 kids, that's just crazy. The good side is, they all appear to actually be hardworking great kids, not a burden on society. But still, wholly camolli that's a lot of kids.

listen, this repulses me. i am sure people will think i am mean spirited, too, but what the heck? i mean, at some point, they need to get on with their lives.

I think it's ridiculous that she has that many kids! I can't my two much less, 19. It cannot be good for her body to go through that traumatic experience that many times. She should have her tubes tied. Her uterus would thank her.

i am shocked, and in awe of mama duggar. i have watched all seasons of their reality show. i'm fascinated that she can handle it all. she also has older kids to help raise the young ones. not sure if the older girls enjoy homeschooling their siblings, doing all other chores, and having to wear those long skirts ALL THE TIME. other kids their age are reading Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird. They are reading stuff about finding Prince Charming. yuk! michelle and jim bob have always said they will keep having kids for as long as God allows. doesn't God know when to say, "stop"? michelle certainly doesn't. take care. i think they have some new episodes tonight. yay!

I read the article on MSN this morning. She's been pregnant for over 12 years of her life. To me, that's verging on insane. The family and kids all seem normal. If it's what she wants to do and the kids are all well taken care of, more power to her. It doesn't mean I don't think she's a little nutty, but I try not to judge her.

As time has gone on and I've had more chances to actually see the show, the kids really do seem like decent human beings. They have their own little personalities, and they're bringing them up with lots of good ideals. On a recent show they were all working to construct an addition on to a house their friends (who also have 17 or 18 kids) owned, and all the kids were pitching in. They really do seem nice, but I'm just scratching my head like WHAT!?!?! It's just hard for me to grasp...

I was wondering when we were going to hear what you had to say about this one!! At least they seem to be raising people who will contribute to the "good" of humanity! But ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!
She must be a little bit nutty.....I'm just saying.

wow, when will they stop? I guess she doesn't believe in birth control?

She said she was feeling sick and tired. I have to wonder if she ever feels normal. And the daughter-in-law called her mother-in-law "Mrs. Duggar". Do they have to be that formal all of the time? Strange.

I don't get it. Why can't 18 just be enough? I try not to judge them because they do seem like a loving family with the means to support all the children. Someone today on Twitter asked why people are so angry with the Duggars... jealously? And my answer maybe is yes, jealously. I don't understand why there are people in the world who can have 19 babies, but there are so many out there who just want one, but can't. And that's not the Duggar's fault, but... I don't know. I just don't get it.

I know you took a hiatus from this subject but this news definitely called for a return to the subject.

I'm equally astounded, frightened, bewildered, and horrified.

I swear her uterus is going to fall out with this one. It can't possibly bear fruit again.

To each his own:) I would be worried if they were not able to care for/handle their children but they do seem like a great family. But, I totally get the "huh?!?!" that you're talking about Sera! The other day my little girl saw a couple minutes of the show and said:
"My Mommy would fweak out if she had that many kids!" So true!

Okay...my first thought was, wow...she has time to have sex. I only have two and don't have time. So I was happy for her. But in another way, I was thinking...my sister just lost hers today...and she has none...sometimes life just seems a little out of wack. I have to say...I love how well mannered their children are and that they actually take a stand for what they believe in...and they all believe it. I was the second of six growing up and was on the brunt end of all the jokes about why couldn't my mom just keep her legs together and all that. But it is guaranteed friends for life. Most of the time. Can't knock that. We always had someone to do stuff with. That is the part I miss now. Most of them are in the same city and don't take advantage of it...I am three hours away and just wishing I could wrap my arms around my sister right this second.

I guess I don't have a problem with it, since they are able to take care of all of the without depending on other people or government money. I just can't imagine:
1) EVER doing that myself,
2) being a child in that house,
3) or seeing Michelle's poor stomach or southern regions, for that matter. Yikes.

I heard this the other day and thought of you immediately. (I don't know if that is what you want ... me associating you with the Duggars but you're stuck now sister.) Seriously, it is ridiculous. Enough is enough. And didn't she just have to steal the thunder from her first grandbaby?

I couldn't believe the news! But then again, it didn't surprise me at all. I would REALLY have a problem if my mom announced to me she was pregnant at the same time I was pregnant. ESPECIALLY my mother in law. Oh goodness. Because then you can't really get mad at your mother in law. I mean, I wouldn't be able to express myself as well. haha. And I definitely agree with Jenners. She is stealing the thunder from her first grandbaby.
